We represent owners, investors, developers and institutional funds in all aspects of the acquisition, development and disposition of commercial real estate properties – including office, retail, multi-family residential, warehouse/industrial, as well as undeveloped land. We take a business-oriented approach to helping our clients navigate transactions and get deals closed.
We represent clients – in real estate finance transactions related to individual properties as well as large portfolios of properties – with all manner of financing transactions, including construction-, permanent-, public- and economic development-financing. We also act as local counsel in out-of-state financings, providing assistance with title/survey matters, local law and the provision of local opinions.
We represent owners, architects and contractors in the negotiation of agreements for all manner of commercial construction work – from tenant fit-outs and building renovations to new construction and design-build projects. We are experienced both with the national-standard American Institute of Architect (AIA) form contracts as well as with one-off agreements of local and national architects and contractors. And the projects on which we have worked are wide-ranging, including mixed-use office/retail/lab/medical facilities, educational institutional developments, municipal projects and public/private ventures.
Steve Langer has been practicing commercial real estate law since 1981, specializing in commercial leasing, financing and development. Steve began his career with Fine & Ambrogne, spending almost ten years at the medium-sized Boston firm. From mid-1990 until 2002, he was a real estate partner at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., a major Boston-based firm with several offices in the United States and abroad. After 2½ years in solo practice, Steve co-founded Langer & McLaughlin, LLP in June of 2005, and the practice continues to cover all areas of commercial real estate, including the representation of developers, landlords, tenants and lenders in connection with retail, office, residential and mixed-use developments.
